VTV Changes Name, Site

As promised, we continue to update within days of our last post. Today we have some exciting news from VTV!

Recently, the VTV site was sadly deleted by Geocities (rotten buggers!) and thus we were lost without a home. But, we're happy to report that Emma has now got the beginnings of the new VTV site up and running. While there is still much work left to be done, this initial few pages will be a welcome return for many viewers.

Not only is the new site up, but VTV-Virtual TeleVission, has changed it's name to the new VTN, standing for Virtual Telvision Network. A new name, and a new look, and a bright future ahead.

VTV and Pass Pictures Execs released these statements regarding the new site:

"The new VTN website, though most pages are still under construction, is now up. We haven't changed the look much, and it's still on Geocities, but this time we're backed up in case (of deletion)." --VTN

"It's good to know that VTN is on the up and up. We here at Pass Pictures are excited and ready to move forward with the new chapter of VTN, and we will bring added features once the new site is up, including when new episodes of each show is posted, and ratings scores, among other things." --Pass Pictures

A link to the new site can be found below, and shortly we will add a new banner to our affliates section for the network.

VTN Link: http://uk.geocities.com/vtn_rising/vtnhome.html

News Byte: A new section which will be at the end of most every update, this will include short news bytes that are not large enough to be expanded into a full story.

This week's news byte: FAITH will soon release promotional images for their series, which will only be available at Pass Pictures!

News Bites!

Just a couple of news bites here from the underground, and a few other updates.

An associate of Pass Pictures reports that Angel the Series may be in danger of ending its acclaimed and celebrated run with this season. A statement released a few days ago by its creator, Brandon Collins, proclaims:

"Angel's story will never be finished. What will be finished is the telling of it. There are so many different aspects of this wonderful character that can be explored, but right now we're not sure if we're going to continue probing into them. Season Six was a stellar one for us, but Season Seven has met some obstacles. Daniel's passing was a devastating one, and with the writers shortage that seems to be plagueing the VTV-verse right now, I'm not entirely certain that Angel will be back. But there is a chance."

As cryptic as ever, Brandon says that he wants to focus on making FAITH a hit, then return to Angel, which could mean that Angel will be on hiatus for a time, if it does continue.

In other news, FAITH'S cast list has been released. The stellar cast will include:

Eliza Dushku as Faith Lehane
DB Woodside as Robin Wood
Tom Lenk as Andrew Wells
James Badge Dale as Demitri
and Grant Show as James Lehane

A supporting cast list will be added later, as some roles have yet to be cast.

DESTINY, the new show created by Chris Ulysses to air this fall on VTV is progressing nicely, with yet another episode being put in the can and scratched off the production list. Brandon Collins, during his short interview about ANGEL was asked about DESTINY:

"I think Destiny has a great premise, and will become a strong staple at VTV. We're looking to make it a unique show, while keeping it real for the viewers, as if they could be in the same situation as well. The series should be ready by sometime this fall, the end of September or early October."

And finally, a new episode of END OF DAYS is ready for viewing!

Here's a short blurb from the EOD site:

"Angelus is once again stirring up trouble for the gang, but when he kills the wrong person in a fight, he taps into a rage that had been building against him for over a hundred years, and a battle of the ages is sparked, leaving Angelus doubting his survival."

Pass Pictures Wants You!

We are currently looking for talented writers who love to write and are committed to their passion. A few of our series are looking for help for upcoming seasons, and want to recruit anyone who is willing!

What we are looking for:

1. Someone committed. This means that you will have the time to pitch in with the series, write episodes, be a graphic artist, whatever you can help with.

2. Someone with big ideas. We'd love to have just a writer, but we'd really love to have someone that has ideas for the series upon reading the information. This would include anything about revising and making the series better, episode ideas, and even new characters.

3. Experience is not required. This is a do-and-don't kind of thing. You would obviously have to like to write in the first place to apply, but you don't need to be the best writer in the world in order to make it. As long as you display certain skills that each show-runner is looking for, you have as good a chance of getting accepted as the next guy.

The series who are looking for help are Destiny*, Angel the Series, End Of Days, Toy Soldiers*, and Faith the Series. If you'd like to apply, please email us at PassPictures@yahoo.com, and we will forward them to the appropriate places.

What you need to include in your email is the name of the series that you are applying for in the subject headline, then in the body you must send a sample of your writing using the basic premise and including as many characters as you can from the show. If you're not sure about the premise of the show, please see below, or the appropriate series homesites.

Thanks!

*Destiny--The premise of this show is that Dakota Grant, a 16 year-old boy, finds out on his 16th birthday that he is a witch. With the help of his experience counsin Bryant, also a witch, they will attempt to take down the evil Lord Gorgen. Meanwhile, Dakota is plagued in his social life by his mother, Helen, and his two friends Sidney and Nicole with questions about whether or not he is gay.

*Toy Soldiers--The story follows 7 young teenagers as they grow and learn the ways of a small military operation run by Commander Samantha Finn.

"Destiny" Creator Tells All!

What we have for you today is a special treat, gentle readers! An interview with the creator of the sure-to-be-a-hit series, Destiny. Creator Chris Ulysses talks with us about his inspiration for the series, where he sees the series going, and what his feelings are about the show airing on VTV this fall!

Pass Pictures: Thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to sit down and talk with us about Destiny. Seems like everything is going well?

Chris Ulysses: You’re welcome, and yes it is.

PP: What gave you the inspiration for this series?

Chris: Well the inspiration for this story is somewhat based on my life. I have an older cousin living with me who will be starting college this fall, and that is who Bryant is based from. My cousin and Bryant both have parents and a younger brother living in Washington D.C. My mom is an accomplished business woman as is Helen (Dakota's mother). Dakota is based on me. My two best friends are also girls like Sidney and Nicole and I am trying to find my place in the world just as Dakota is.

PP: Why did you want to tell this story?

Chris: Personally I wanted to tell this story because I felt it would be a power house series, full of emotion and drama. From being a witch, coming to grips with your sexuality, parents finding out that you’re gay, being kicked out of school, falling for a warlock, falling in love with a gypsy. All that rolled up in to 12 richly layered episodes for the first season.

PP: How long has this series been in the works?

Chris: This series has actually been in the works for about six months. It was actually an episode in another virtual series I was going to send to VTV but I decided that series was crap on a stick! So as the days went by I kept thinking about telling Dakota's story of fighting for the greater good. And that's how Destiny came to be and there are some major changes between the episode and the actual series.

PP: Have you wanted to do it for a while now?

Chris: Yes. Well the first episode I wrote was an unaired episode that oh my god was horrible and I shall never air it! It was about three gothic girls who become witches. So Destiny has been in the works for a while and I do not see the series slowing down anytime soon.

PP: How do you think the audience will respond to your series? Good, bad, ugly, are you game for it all?

Chris: I truly hope that they respond to it in a good light and it becomes a hit but you never know. Good, bad, ugly, I’m ready for it all, so bring it on! (laughs)

PP: If there is a strong fan base and the show does well with its first season and is picked up further, how many seasons do you think you could get out of the series?

Chris: Well if it is a hit and has a strong fan base it will most likely have five seasons. Who knows maybe it will have more and could go on for ten seasons.

PP: At some point your characters would have to find happiness in never-never-land right?

Chris: Maybe and maybe not. This show was not meant to be fairy tale like, so one of the main characters could die--for example Bryant could be killed in the big battle on the series finale or even, god forbid, Dakota. You just never know with Destiny that's why I think it is such in an amazing show.

PP: Well, at the end anyway, a happy ending? Or not, for a cliffhanger of sorts.

Chris: No there will only be cliffhangers on season finales and I will give you an inside scoop--this season’s finale will be a big cliff hanger. The show will end with closure and make the fans very happy.

PP: Where do you see the overall arc of the series going?

Chris: The overall arch of the series in general is to learn as much about Dakota's Destiny as possible. He has yet to tap into that full power of his prophecy--being the Champion-- that may be something to come into the fold during season two. I know you’re wondering about Bryant. I see Bryant and Dakota moving out into the city during the later seasons. Who knows were they could end up--New York, Los Angles who knows. There are so many possibilities with this series that you just never know what is coming next.

PP: What could we expect from a second season?

Chris: What could you expect from a second season? Well it will tie-in with the first with a big bad from the season finale still hanging around and causing hell on earth. Bryant and Hazels relationship will be tested in new ways with prejudices, possible pregnancy and a lot more. Jake will be on a quest to win back every ones trust and even Dakota's heart. Dakota will finally begin to get a hand on his Destiny, There will be someone causing lots of trouble for the dynamic duo of Bryant and Dakota making the team a trio of power. I have a lot of things you can expect but you will have to wait until the first season has finished airing this October only on VTV!

PP: Thanks for speaking with us! I hope we get to sit down soon.

Chris: Sure, no problem. Be glad to do it again.

“Destiny” will air this fall only on VTV.

Does This Qualify As Bragging? Angel Season Six Wins Big!

Not quite sure what this qualifies as, but, we'd thought we'd post it here anyway. After all, we are an updates site, correct? Of course! So, on with it....

At the recent 1st Annual VTV Awards, Angel the Series, Season Six, won big, sweeping the awards ceremony by taking 7 out of 13 award categories. The wins included:

Best Series
Best Plot
Best Writer--Daniel Pass
Best Episode--"Go to Work"
Best Actor--Alexis Denisof as Wesley/The First
Best Actress--Amy Acker as Illyria/Fred
Most Hilarious Quote

Speaking of Daniel Pass, we thought this would be a good time to inform you of this wonderful man. In case you haven't noticed, Pass Pictures was named after the great Daniel Pass. Mr. Pass created and wrote much of Angel the Series, Season Six, and really spurred on the creation of VTV in many ways. Among them, writers from AtS moved on to new projects--Jenn Stickwood moved on to End Of Days, and Brandon Collins continued AtS with Season Seven. And Emma Hayden asked herself: Wouldn't it be nice if there were a place where all these series could air, like a real TV network......thus the creation of VTV.

Unfortunately, Daniel Pass passed on last December, and it was shortly thereafter that Pass Pictures was created in his memory, only to further the wonderful world that he helped to create. This is why we are so passionate about our shows and work, because Daniel wouldn't have had it any other way.

More updates to come soon!

Who Are We?

Just like the popular "Who" song, our first post is about who we are. So let's get right to it.

Pass Pictures is an online production company that produces online series for the network VTV. This is not a real production company. Our sole purpose is to bring quality fanfic and original writing to the VTV audience, and to continue to promote the healthy habit of writing.

Unfortunately, we are unable to refer you to the VTV site at this time, as it is undergoing a few changes (actually, being rebuilt) from the ground up because Geocities deleted it. They like to do that sort of thing. Our old homesite was there as well, but we decided to move to this wonderful place instead.

Becoming part of our family is a simple task to accomplish. There are only a few things you must do:

Send a self-addressed, stamped email to PassPictures@yahoo.com with the following information:

Series' Name:
Writers' Name and Email addys:
Series Description:
Characters and actors/actresses portraying them:
And a pilot.

It's that simple! And we will help you get your foot in the door to thousands of readers out there who use the VTV site everyday (once it is up again in the fall) who will read and love your work!

This specfic site for Pass Pictures is here to serve you in updating information about our company and our productions. Currently, we have three series in production: Faith the Series, Angel the Series, and Destiny. You may find affliation links for some of these below. We will continue to bring you quality television and updates about our current productions in the future, so stay tuned!
